The 2012 Fall Young Alumni Weekend took place on campus on September 14 - 15. With perfect weather and a perfect game day atmosphere on Rocky Top as a backdrop, more than 260 young alumni returned to campus to take part in the festivities.
The Young Alumni Council (YAC) held its fall meeting on Friday, September 14 in the Brenda Lawson Athletic Center. The YAC is a group of 40 young alumni volunteer leaders who collaborate with the Office of Alumni Affairs to lead events and initiatives targeting graduates of the past 10 years.
After its meeting the YAC members were treated to a tour of the new Tennessee Football training facility.
On Saturday, a huge crowd trekked up The Hill to Ayres Hall for the official Young Alumni pre-game tailgate event. All guests received a BEAT FLORIDA t-shirt, Young Alumni koozie, and enjoyed great fellowship and food. Former UT football quarterback Erik Ainge (2004-2007) stopped by to provide the guests with a preview of the game.
The excitement and energy of the hundreds of Young Alumni in attendance made this event the single largest Young Alumni event held on campus since the program's inception in 2007.
